Lamplugh is one of a knot of small towns and villages on the edge of England's Lake District National Park in West Cumbria. The village is nearest to the Lowes Water lake, which is one of the smaller and less crowded areas within the district, offering a choice of quality holiday accommodation, self-catering cottages, caravan sites and Bed & Breakfasts, yet with more room to relax and take in the beautiful surroundings in peace.
This is a rather central location, with excellent transport links, and so offers an excellent base from which to reach the countless attractions and sites of interest, both locally and in the Lake District as a whole, including: Grizedale Forest, with its adventure course of rope bridges and 60ft zip slides; Peter Rabbit and Friends; Dove Cottage and the Wordsworth Museum; the Mirehouse Historic House and Gardens, which offers various activities for all the family; the Silverband Falconry; and the Cars of the Stars Motor Museum.
