Lamesly Gateshead

Lamesley is a small village located in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. According to various sources and historians,  Lewis Carroll is said to have penned Alice In Wonderland at The Ravensworth Arms, which is located in Lamesley. Interestingly, it is also suggested that Alice was the name of the landlords daughter. This piece of information alone makes Lamesley a very interesting place to visit – the birthplace of one of the most famous novels of all time.
