Kirtlebridge is a small and pleasant village in the Annandale region of Southern Scotland, in the county of Dumfries and Galloway. It is situated at a crossing of the Kirtle Water, neighbouring Lockerbie and Annan, and has a railway station on the Carlisle to Glasgow line. The area is well known for its scenic country walks, outdoor pursuits, and sites of historic interest, including the 16th century Bonshaw Tower.
Popular attractions in the area include Thomas Carlyle's Birthplace, the Savings Banks Museum, Burns House (former home of Scottish poet Robert Burns), Caerlaverock Castle, the National Museum of Costume, and The World Famous Old Blacksmith's Shop, to name only a handful.
