Killin

Killin is a village at the western end of Loch Tay, in the Scottish council area of Stirlingshire (formerly Perthshire). The village enjoys and enviable location with magnificent views of the Falls of Dochart and a main street that leads pleasantly down towards the Loch, at the confluence of the rivers Dochart and Lochay.

The area was once the territory of the MacNab Clan and their ancient burial ground can be visited on Inchbuie island, which is located just below the Falls. Kinnell House was their seat and is now a popular tourist attraction that also features a well preserved prehistoric standing stone circle in its grounds. The ruins of Finlarig Castle can also be found to the north of the village, which was the stronghold of the Campbells of Breadalbane, who eventually took Kinnell house from the MacNabs
