Ilfracombe

The picturesque seaside resort town of Ilfracombe in the attractive county of Devon is home to a sheltered harbour, surrounded by majestic cliffs. This resort town became popular because of the outstanding location that blends stunning coastal scenery with rural tranquillity. Ilfracombe is a hilly place and at its highest point reaches 860 feet above sea level; the views from 'Hore Down Gate' are spectacular. There was once a Celtic fortress on Hillsborough Hill that dominates the town and vies for attention with the other landmark here, the award-winning Landmark Theatre known locally as ‘Madonna’s Bra’ as it is an unusual double-conical design.
