Hull

The city of Hull is formally referred to as Kingston-upon-Hull and found in the county of East Riding in Yorkshire.  It stands where the River Hull joins the Humber estuary and is 25 miles inland from the North Sea. Hull has a full and fascinating history; from the English Civil Wars to the abolition of the slave trade in the 18th-century by Member of Parliament, William Wilberforce, Hull has seen it all. The history of Hull has seen it serve as a market town, a military supply port, a trading hub, a fishing and whaling centre and industrial metropolis.

From its position on the banks of the River Humber, Hull offers plenty to enjoy; from a vibrant cultural scene to excellent shopping, a fantastic choice of dining and nightlife venues as well as historic buildings and the fascinating Museum Quarter. Situated in the heart of the historic Old Town, the Museum Quarter links four of Hull's free museums and invites you to journey back in history over 235 million years.
