Hollingworth

Hollingworth is a village within the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, in Greater Manchester, England, on the boundary of Derbyshire and within the historical county boundaries of Cheshire.  It is located twelve miles to the east of Manchester. The village is named after the Hollingworth family, who owned the land since the Anglo-Saxon era. Hollingworth Hall is no longer present, although its chapel remains. Hollingworth Lake and nature reserve is a very popular local attraction.

This is a pleasant and welcoming village, set attractively in the English countryside and surrounded by area of woodland. Its close proximity to Manchester makes it a very popular commuter town as well as an excellent vantage point from which the tourist can benefit from easy access to the best of three separate counties.
