Hilgay

Hilgay is village in the English county of Norfolk, neighbouring the large coastal village of Downham Market. The civila parish of the same name is quite sparsely populated, and includes the neighbouring settlements of Fordham, Ryston, Southery and Denver. It is situated prettily on the River Wissey, near the Ouse, and like much of Norfolk is characterised by the various waterways that criss-cross the countryside. It offers fair amenities, a good choice of quality holiday accommodation, and plenty of quality pubs and restaurants, to help explorers of the Norfolk Fens on their way. Attractions in the area include Oxburgh Hall, Ely Museum and Ely Cathedral.
