Helensburgh is a scenic seaside resort town in the Scottish council area of Argyll and Bute (formerly Dunbartonshire). It is located on the east coast of Scotland in the Firth of Clyde, which is also the of the entrance to the Gareloch.
Its close proximity and excellent transport links with Glasgow makes it a popular commuter town and holiday destination. It is also the main shopping centre for the local area and for day-trippers. The seafront offers an indoor swimming pool, as well as an esplanade, sailing facilities, and a marina nearby at Rhu. There is also a regular ferry service operating in the firth.
The town is home to Hill House, which was built in 1903 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh built the for the publishing tycoon Walter Blackie and is now a National Trust for Scotland tourist attraction.
