Haslingden

Haslingden is a small town in the picturesque Rossendale Valley in Lancashire, England. Although the town is situated high on a hill, the name of the village derives from an Anglo-Saxon phrases meaning 'valley of the hazels'. It is situated, along with neighbouring Bacup and Rawtenstall, in the Forest of Rossendale, which like the Forest of Bowland, was a traditional hunting ground of the royal family.

Snighole, in nearby Helmshore, and the Grane Valley reservoirs, are a popular beauty spots of the area, which are very much enjoyed by walkers. There are a number of routes for walkers and cyclists of all abilities in the area.
