Hambleton

Hambleton is a local government district of North Yorkshire, England which includes the market towns and major villages of Bedale, Thirsk, Great Ayton, Stokesley and Easingwold. Northallerton is the administrative centre of the district, which is in the North Riding of Yorkshire.

The name of the district is derived from the nearby Hambleton Hills, which are part of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, to the east of Hambleton. The area is under a national habitat protection scheme. Local sites of interest include the medieval Firby Hall and the Thorp Perrow Arboretum woodland garden in Bedale, Cod Beck in Thirsk, and of course the many traditional pubs and restaurants in the area serving Hambleton ale from Hambleton's very own microbrewery near Thirsk.
