Halifax

Halifax is a large minster town, near Calderdale in West Yorkshire, England. Best known perhaps as the town where the Halifax Bank was founded, as well as for Mackintosh Toffee, Halifax was once the central town of the wool manufacturing industry, and boasts excellent transport links and a townscape of fine architecture, including the Town Hall, which was designed by Charles Barry, who also designed the Houses of Parliament.

Halifax is home to "Eureka! The Museum for Children", an inspiration of Prince Charles, who also opened it 1992. Other local attractions are the Regimental Museum, the Textile Museum, Shibden Hall (the former home of diarist Anne Lister), and the Borough Market, which is an award winning Victorian covered market in the Halifax town centre.
