Greystoke

The village of Greystoke lies at the edge of the Lake District National Park in the picturesque county of Cumbria and is home to the 16th century Greystoke Castle that is set in 3,000 acres of beautiful parkland. The village and its buildings are steeped in history with places of note including; St. Andrew's parish church dating back to the 13th century and the charming 17th century cottages that are prevalent about the centre of the village.

 

Greystoke, its village green and cobbled forecourts is a picture-perfect Cumbrian town that attracts visitors throughout the year. For visitors, there are ample amenities and shops, pubs and eateries as well as historic buildings and visitor attractions locally, including; the Castle, church of St. Andrews and three well known folly farm holds built around 1789 by the 11th Duke of Norfolk. The surrounding area is rich in flora, fauna and wildlife as well as opportunities to enjoy a host of outdoor pursuits like golf, fishing, walking, cycling and bird watching.
