Gosforth

Gosforth is a village on the English North-West coast in the popular tourist region of Cumbria, just outside of the Lake District National Park. It neighbours Whitehaven and Barrow-in-Furness, in an idyllic part of the region that offers the advantage of close proximity to both the lakes and the seaside, with countless attractions and historically fascinating sites to visit.

Norse artefacts can be found in and around Gosforth's own St. Mary's church, including the oldest and tallest Viking Cross in England. There was once another, but this was turned into a sundial base in 1789. Gosforth Hall, which is now a popular Hotel and Restaurant near the church, dates back to 1658.

Popular locations nearby include the otherworldly mountainous scenery and lake of the Wasdale Valley, the Ravenglass Estuary, and Egremont Castle.
