Gorebridge

Gorebridge is a village in Midlothian, Scotland. It is situated on the River Gore, a tributary of the Esk, and is named after the bridge that crosses it. It is a former mining that was the home of Scotland's first Gunpowder Mill. It celebrates an annual Gala day with a town fair, rides and games, and a parade.

The village is near to Gore Glen, where there is a shallow cave named 'The Kings Cave', which, according to legend, was where Robert the Bruce is said to have hidden after a defeat by the English and gained courage from witnessing the tenacity of a spider spinning a web.
