Goole is an historic industrial town and port of the East Riding of Yorkshire, in England. It is located 45 miles inland at the confluence of the rivers Don and Ouse, where they form the River Humber. It is due to the sheer size of the estuary that allows the port to exist so far inland. Visitors will find a good selection of holiday accommodation in the area due to the popularity of the region for its beauty, walks, and historical significance, along with the numerous popular seaside resorts and Blue Flag beaches along the coast.
The East Riding as a whole offers a large number of things to see and do, including the historic buildings of Burnby Hall, Burton Agnes Manor House, Burton Agnes Hall, Sewerby Hall, and Skipsea Castle as well as the gun battery of Fort Paull. Spurn Point, Bempton Cliffs, and the various rivers of the area are mainly under the care of the National Trust and include many areas of natural beauty and significance, that can be explored by way of the various canals and waterways, as well as the countless walking routes, including the Yorkshire Wolds Way long distance footpath, which starts at Hessle and winds its way through the Yorkshire Wolds to Filey.
