Goathland

Famous as the setting of the television series "Heartbeat", Goathland is a scenic village in the Scarborough district of North Yorkshire, in England. It is situated within the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, neighbouring Pickering and the historic fishing town of Whitby, where Bram Stoker wrote part of the classic horror novel "Dracula". Goathland is popular for its idyllic scenery, including a beautiful waterfall nearby, known as the Mallyan Spout, and benefits from having a station on the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway line.

York Minster, JORVIK York and the National Railway Museum are just a few of the attractions in the immediate area, with Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo, Eden Camp and Castle Howard, being among the many others within easy reach.

Goathland village supports a number of pub-restaurants, quality hotels and guest houses, as well as a large caravan site, making this an idea vantage point from which to explore North Yorkshire.
