Ganton

Ganton is a pretty village in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England, neighbouring the seaside towns of Filey Scarborough. The village is mentioned in the Domesday Book, and the name of the village is a possible derivation of the Anglo-Saxon phrase 'Galma's farmstead'. Ganton is situated on the long-distance footpath, the "Yorkshire Wolds Way", which begins at neighbouring Hessle. Another popular walkers route convenient to the town is the "Cleveland Way", which starts at Helmsley and passes through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.

York Minster, JORVIK York and the National Railway Museum are just a few of the attractions in the local area, with Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo, Eden Camp and Castle Howard, being among the many others within easy reach.
