Fort William is the largest town in the Scottish Highlands, and the second largest town in the region after Inverness. It is situated on the shores of the sea loch, Loch Linnhe at the mouth of both the rivers Nevis and Lochy. The town is a major tourist destination by Glen Coe and Glenfinnan, located on the famous "Road to the Isles". It is a popular centre for hillwalkers and mountain climbing because of its proximity to Ben Nevis, along with many other Munro mountains, and so it is marketed as the "Outdoor Capital of the UK", as well as being on the Downhill Mountain Bike Track and the West Highland Way, which is reached all the way from Glasgow and the Great Glen Way.
