Filey is a small town in North Yorkshire, England, close to the popular holiday resort of Scarborough on the North Sea coast. Filey is itself a popular tourist resort, owing to its large beach and pretty character as a former fishing village.
The town is situated at the eastern end of the "Cleveland Way", which is a long-distance footpath; that starts at Helmsley and passes through the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Another popular walkers route convenient to the town is the "Yorkshire Wolds Way", which begins at neighbouring Hessle.
York Minster, JORVIK York and the National Railway Museum are just a few of the attractions in the immediate area, with Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo, Eden Camp and Castle Howard, being among the many others within easy reach.
