Edenfield

Edenfield is a large village in Lancashire, England. Situated on the bank of the River Irwell, it is just over a mile away from town of Ramsbottom for which Edenfield was established as a settlement for housing quarry workers.

The local area is a haven for walkers and hikers as the striking landscape of the the Rossendale valley is dominated by Dearden Moor and Scout Moor to the east; and Holcombe Moor across the valley to the west, where visitors might find the Peel Monument commemorating former Prime Minister Robert Peel. Many walkers also like to take the trail to see Waugh's Well, which is a memorial to the Lancashire Dialect writer and poet, Edwin Waugh, who often wrote in that location.

The village is relatively quiet and is a commuter settlement for the Greater Manchester and East Lancashire areas of the North West, thus offering an excellent vantage point from which to explore the attractions and beauty spots of England's north-western regions.
