Edenbridge is a town in the Sevenoaks district of the county of Kent, near the spot where the borders of Kent, Surrey and Sussex meet. The old part of the town grew along a section of the Roman road, the London to Lewes Way at the point where it crossed the river. Local iron slag from iron smelting in the area was used to build the road and in the Middle Ages, Edenbridge became a centre of the Wealden iron industry. With the coming of the railways, the town prospered and expanded to take in the nearby community of Marlpit Hill.
Edenbridge is an attractive town with many medieval black and white timbered buildings as a key feature; one of these medieval buildings houses the Eden Valley Museum that offers a glimpse into a fascinating past. A busy Farmer's Market takes place on the third Saturday of every month, where you can buy fresh, local produce and handicrafts. Eateries, pubs and shopping complete the image of a picture-perfect Kent town.
