Duxford

Duxford is a village in Cambridgeshire, England, not far from Cambridge. Duxford is home to the former Royal Air Force airfield, RAF Duxford, which was a major airfield in the Battle of Britain, as base of the Douglas Bader's Big Wing. The site is now the Duxford branch of the Imperial War Museum and was used as a set in the feature film The Battle of Britain, in which one of the actual hangars was blown up to portray a Luftwaffe raid.

The village offers a good choice of holiday accommodation, various pubs and restaurants, and excellent links to Central London and to the English South-East as a whole.

Popular attractions in the area include Ramsey Abbey, the University of Cambridge Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, the Nene Valley Railway, and the Imperial War Museum in Duxford, to name only a few.
