Duns is the county town of Berwickshire in Scotland, near to the English Border. It offers a very large shopping facility, and a good choice of pubs, restaurants and holiday accommodation, along with countless sites and attractions to visit for all tastes and budgets.
Duns Castle is a Gothic Revival Structure designed by James Gillespie Graham that incorporates the remains of the original Normal keep or peel tower dating from 1320. The Castle is now used for private functions and the grounds are open to the public, which includes the Duns Castle Nature Reserve and wetlands. Alexander Hay, who was killed at the battle of Waterloo, is said to haunt the Castle.
