Dunoon

Dunoon is a resort town of the Cowal Peninsula, in the Scottish council area of Argyll. It is situated on the Firth of Clyde near Holy Loch and Gourock. The town is notable for its multifunctional hall and amphitheatre, The Queen's Hall, which is situated at the head of the pier and has hosted performances by internationally recognised acts such as Pink Floyd, Blur, and David Gray.

The town grew as a resort town over recent centuries because of its close proximity with Glasgow, from which is became customary to take a paddle steamer "doon the watter" for a pleasant seaside daytrip. This has seen a particular resurgence in recent years, with a particular increase in the number classy stag and hen parties taking advantage of a novel way to celebrate.
