Dunblane is a small cathedral city and former burgh in the north of the Scottish council area of Stirling, near the town of Perth. The Allan Water runs through its town centre. Dunblane means 'fort of Blane' after the early Irish Bláán who came to the settlement in the late 6th century. The cathedral contains two cross-slabs from the 10th or 11th century, as relics of Scotland's early Christian heritage. The town is served by Dunblane railway station.
Popular attractions in the area include Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park, National Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle, Argyll's Lodging, and Smith Art Gallery & Museum.
