Dudley

Dudley is a large town in the West Midlands of England, neighbouring Wolverhampton. It is the second largest town in the United Kingdom, most notable for Dudley Castle, which is Norman in origin and built on an outcrop of Wenlock Group limestone, which is now a Scheduled Ancient Monument, as is the Wrens Nest Nature Reserve. The Wrens Nest Estate is a site of geological significance due to the high volume of fossilised remains found in the area including those of a Silurian coral reef. Saint James Priory, in the Priory Park, dates from the 12th century.

Attractions of the area include the Dudley Zoological Gardens, the West Midlands Safari Park, and Drayton Manor Theme Park. The town itself offers a good range of shops, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops to ensure a comfortable visit, along with excellent transport links to the wider area, ensuring that Dudley provides that perfect vantage point from which to explore the West Midlands.
