Drymen

The village of Drymen in Stirling, Scotland is set in an idyllic location to the west of the magnificent Campsie Fells range of hills that reach east to west, from Denny Muir to Dumgoyne in East Dunbartonshire. From the village, the views to the east are over Dumgoyne; the prominent hill at the edge of the Campsie Fells that is such a well known landmark, visible from Glasgow. To the west, you can see famous Loch Lomond; the largest lake in Great Britain that is a popular leisure destination and is of course, featured in the well known song.

Drymen is a place most often discovered by walkers, outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers who come to enjoy the vast beauty of the area with its diverse wildlife, flora and fauna. The ‘West Highland Way’ path is here and forms the western end of the Rob Roy Way. Drymen has adequate amenities and pubs including the Clachan pub that is reputed to be ‘the oldest pub in Scotland’. At the edge of the village, the Queen Elizabeth Forest stretches out before you and is part of the larger Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. This was the first National Park in Scotland and is centred on picturesque Loch Lomond. At over 720 mi², the park is the fourth largest in Britain and includes an incredible blend of forests, hills, mountains, lakes and 57 designated special nature conservation sites.
