Driffield

Driffield is a market town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, in England, which is situated near to the source of the River Hull in the Yorkshire Wolds. Aldfrith of Northumbria is said to have been buried here.

The town is known as the "Capital of the Wolds", due to its convenien location between Bridlington, Beverley and York and so was once an important coaching stage, with excellent road, rail and coastal links, in addition to its position on the Driffield Navigation canal.

The town features good facilities, including several pubs, nightclubs and restaurants. The main hotel of Driffield is the "Bell Hotel", a former coaching inn located in the town centre, which offers a broad selection of whiskies.

York Minster, JORVIK York and the National Railway Museum are just a few of the attractions in the immediate area, with Flamingo Land Theme Park & Zoo, Eden Camp and the resorts of Whitby and Robinhood's Bay all only a short journey away for a fun family day out, making Driffield a very convenient vantage point from which to enjoy the best of North Yorkshire.
