Didcot

The town of Didcot in the county of Oxfordshire has grown from a small rural settlement first documented in the 13th century, to the thriving commuter town we see today. It is the railways that brought growth and prosperity to Didcot and many visitors come to explore this heritage and visit the famous Railway Centre. For steam enthusiasts and those with an interest of the history of the train, Didcot has the Great Western Society and its unique collection of former Great Western Railway steam engines, coaches and buildings. With events for all the family held here throughout the year and an incredible re-creation of Brunel's broad gauge railway, it is an incredible visitor attraction.

Didcot has excellent amenities, an abundance of shopping in both centres and independent shops, pubs, eateries, cultural attractions, wonderful open spaces and several large parks, including; Edmonds Park and Ladygrove Park as well as fishing lakes and the diverse Millennium Wood with its mixed deciduous wood and native species shrubs.
