Devon is a large and scenic county in the South West of England, known collectively as the Westcounty. The county is bordered by the English Channel to its south, the Bristol Channel to the north, and the counties of Cornwall and Dorset to the west and east respectively. Devon is the fourth largest of the English counties. Its county town is the cathedral city of Exeter, while the port city of Plymouth and the Torbay seaside resorts, are two of the county's most popular visitor destinations, Plymouth being the largest of Devon's cities.
This is a very rural part of the country, with a relatively low population density, characterised by rolling green valley landscapes, dense woodlands and cobbled villages. It is home to part of England's only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coast, on the Dorset and East Devon coastline; as well as to the Braunton Burrows UNESCO Biosphere Reserve; Bodmin Moor, and the Dartmoor and Exmoor national parks.
Popular attractions in the county include the Exeter Cathedral, Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Exeter's Underground Passages, Powderham Castle, the Spacex Gallery, and the Crealy Great Adventure Park, to name only a select few.
