Dent is a small but very attractive English village in Cumbria, in the scenic Pennine valley of Dentdale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
This is a less heavily-tourist centric location of an international tourist region, which enjoys close proximity to the Lake District National Park, while residing within the boundary of a national park belonging to the neighbouring county, to which it once belonged. Each county, together with each of their respective national parks, is deeply rich in cultural and historical interest, making Dent the perfect location from which to get the benefit of both. The river Dee flows through the town before joining the River Lune, which only adds to the idyllic tranquillity and natural beauty of this lovely little village and its surroundings. Recommended local features to explore include the grand Dent Head Viaduct and the ancient watermill at Rash Bridge near the mouth of the River Dee.
