Denbigh is a market town in the county of Denbighshire in Wales, neighbouring Ruthin and St Asaph, as well as the seaside resort of Rhyl. The town's heritage is mainly in the glove-making industry.
This is an ancient town in origin, although is has been repeatedly destroyed throughout the ages through various revolts and the later Wars of the Roses, after which it relocated from its early hilltop location to its present position.
Notable sites in Denbigh include the ruins of Denbigh Castle; the town walls, which date back to 1282, with the impressive the Burgess Gate; and Leicester's Church. The town also features a library and a museum, as well as the Denbigh Boxing club. Denbigh also hosts an annual barrel rolling competition each Boxing Day in the town square.
