Daventry

Daventry is a small market town located in the County of Northamptonshire. Daventry was initially a very small Anglo-Saxon village in approximately 920. Interestingly, William Shakespeare refers to the town in his play Henry VI part 1. Daventry is in close proximity to the likes of Coventry, Rugby and Northhamptom.

Daventry remained consistently a quiet, picturesque market town and only started any real development or movement in 1960 with the town beginning to expand and companies like Timken (a  tapered roller bearing manufacturer) opening factories within the area – generating jobs and aiding the growth of industry. Daventry has developed further and is now mainly a warehousing and distribution centre for major companies and provides a vital freight interchange terminal between road and rail called ‘The Daventry International Railfreight Terminal’.
