Darley

Darley is a village in the middle of the more remote Nidderdale region in the extremely popular tourist district of Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England. The village has won numerous local and national 'Britain in Bloom' awards, and Nidderdale as a whole is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, inclusive of the lower Wharfedale, some of the valleys west of the River Ure, the Washburn valley and a portion of lower Wensleydale,

Although outside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Nidderdale is itself one of the dales, and forms the upper valley of the River Nidd, a tributary of the River Ouse.

Attractions of the region include: the ruins of the Augustinian Bolton Abbey; Jervaulx Abbey;
the geographically significant features of Malham, including the Gordale Scar and Malham Cove; Kilnsey Crag, which is a popular rock-climbing challenge; the Three Peaks of the Yorkshire Dales; and the Ribblehead Viaduct.
