Crook

Crook is a market town in County Durham, in North East England, near the county town, Durham, and within close proximity of the scenic upper reaches of the Weardale.

It developed as a mining village in the early 19th century, and like much of the county, earned a heritage of excellent transport system and a network of waterways that now help to make it a very pleasant tourist destination, surrounded by extremely beautiful views and natural wonders. 

County Durham also features many historical landmarks, including substantial remains from the Norman period, such as portions of Durham Cathedral the castle, as well as in several parish churches throughout the county. There are a large number of castles in the County Durham, along with numerous manor houses and other sites of historical interest.
