Comberbach

The perfect place for country pursuits, Comberbach is a small village in the west of Cheshire, in the North of England. Although the village is ideally located within commuting distance of the major Norther cities of Manchester, Stockport and Chesire, the village is very quiet, featuring a new lottery funded Memorial Hall, bowling clubs, two traditional pubs and a post office/shop.

Tradition is the key word here and every year on the 31st of October — the Eve of All Souls — the village performs the traditional Soulcaking Play, a folk play where each participant plays a very specific type of role, which last for two weeks.

For visitors, this little nook is ideal for a quiet retreat into the Olde English countryside while still being close enough to various local hotspots and activities to make your visit interesting, with the Anderton Boat Lift one the Trent, access to the Mersey canal, Marbury Park and Budworth Mere.
