Chipping

Chipping is a picturesque village of 1,000 inhabitants in the Ribble Valley, in the North West of England. It is situated within the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and has won numerous Best Kept Village competitions in addition to the Royal Horticultural Society Britain in Bloom competition in 2009 as well as RHS Tourism and Gold achievement awards. The village is especially popular with rock climbers and walkers of all fitness levels, with a number of routes to choose from and traditional pubs to rest at along the way.

Chipping has its own Local History Society and a small airstrip, which is home to the winch-launched gliding club, the Bowland Forest Gliding Club.
