Catforth

Catforth is a rural village in the county of Lancashire in the North East of England, not far from the city of Preston. Although there is a popular marina and waterway nearby, the tranquil setting and Victorian era redbrick buildings make this small but charming village quite scenic and timeless, with only a few amenities and two very traditional pubs. "The Bay Horse" and "The Running Pump", are family-friendly, though quiet, and are a favourite stop-off for those walkers who have had the pleasure of discovering this little nook. Nature lovers and bird watchers may enjoy a short trip to nearby Danson Hill, which is home to such birds as Spotted Flycatchers, Chiffchaffs, Goldcrests, Willow Warblers and Blackcaps.
