The picturesque suburb of Carshalton in the London Borough of Sutton lies in a valley of the River Wandle that provides the pretty feature at the heart of the village, the Carshalton Ponds. The village character here remains despite the growth in the area and there is a wealth of attractive architecture and open spaces that are protected as a conservation area. The church that overlooks the ponds has done so since at least Norman times and Honeywood at the western end of the ponds, dates from the 17th century. Honeywood is home to the London Borough of Sutton's Museum with its exhibitions telling the tale of this area.
Carshalton has more than ample amenities, shops, eateries, pubs and visitor attractions as well as historic sites and houses. The Carshalton House Water Tower, Little Holland House, The Oaks Bakehouse, The Orangery, Strawberry Lodge as well as beautiful open spaces and well tended parks offer the visitor plenty to explore and enjoy.
