Caldicot is a small Welsh town in Monmouthshire, neighbouring Chepstow and Newport. It is best known for its medieval castle, which is said to be haunted by a large number of souls, including that of a grey lady thought to be the heiress Alianore de Bohun, who died in 1399. The Gatehouse Banqueting Hall in particular is renowned as a site of countless sightings and unexplained phenomena. As a result, the Castle offers regular Fright Nights and Ghost Tours, making it a fun and very popular tourist attraction.
As well as the fascinating Caldicot Castle with its scenic lakes and grounds, Caldicot and the wider Monmouthshire region offer a number of enjoyable visitor attractions, including the castles of Chepstow and Newport, Tintern Abbey, the Clearwell Caves underground mines, and a number of supervised rock climbing excursions.
