Caerwys

Caerwys is a pleasant and attractive market town in Flintshire, Wales. The original street plans of the American city of Philadelphia were based on the street pattern of Caerwys. Local doctor Thomas Wynne was one of the Founding Fathers of the country, who sailed out on the Welcome with William Penn in 1682. Wynne became the first speaker of the Provisional Assembly, as well as a provincial judge. The centre of Caerwys is now a designated conservation area, with many architecturally similar building in common with counterparts that still stand in Philadelphia.

This is a vibrant and welcoming town, surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty and boasting stunning views across mountains and valleys. There is a good choice of quality pubs and restaurants in Caerwys, along with excellent shopping prospects and ease of access to all the towns and attractions of the wider area. Popular local attractions include Denbigh Castle, Greenacres Animal Park, Lady Lever Art Gallery, and Llyn Brenig Reservoir and Visitor Centre.
