Buckhurst Hill

Buckhurst Hill is a suburban town in the Epping Forest district of Essex, with good commuter links to London through the borough of Redbridge, via its two stations on the Central Line of the London Underground. The town developed mostly during the Victorian period, which still characterises much of the town today, with a predominance of Victorian architecture.

Local places of interest in the area include the Queen Elizabeth I Hunting Lodge, which was originally built for Henry VIII before becoming a favourite of the queen; Ambresbury Banks, the site of an ancient Stone Age settlement, which also has links to Queen Boudica; Waltham Abbey; and the great expanse of the historic Epping Forest.
