Bridge of Don

The Aberdeen suburb of Bridge of Don in Aberdeenshire, Scotland lies to the north of Aberdeen in this diverse county where modern cities and traditional villages are amidst a region rich with prehistoric and historic heritage. There are numerous Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeological sites throughout Aberdeenshire, including Longman Hill, Kempstone Hill, Catto Long Barrow and Cairn Lee. The actual Bridge of Don is a five-arched bridge built in 1825 to cross the River Don here at the northern boundary of the City of Aberdeen. As a suburb, Bridge of Don is a thriving area that has grown from the mid 19th century to become the largest suburb in Europe.
