Bournemouth

Bournemouth is a very popular English seaside resort in the county of Dorset and is renowned for its beautiful buildings, seven miles of golden sands and stunning coastline. The town was founded by Lewis Tregonwell in 1810 and with the advent of the railway, was to become the seaside destination for ever-growing numbers of visitors. The surrounding region records human activity going back thousands of years but prior to 1800, the Bournemouth area was largely a remote. The only visitors here were fishermen and smugglers and then in1809, the Tapps Arms public house appeared on the heath, followed a few years later by the first residents.

Today, Bournemouth is a vibrant town that bustles with activity throughout the year with residents and visitors drawn to the variety of attractions in and around the resort. Shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and events, theatres, shows and gorgeous countryside are on offer along with beautiful award-winning gardens and Europe's first artificial surf reef in Boscombe.
