Borehamwood is a town in southern Hertfordshire, neighbouring Barnet, which is in Greater London. The town has been the home of the UK's main film and television production centres since the 1920s. The Associated British Studios on Shenley Road in particular was used in the filming of blockbusters such as The Shining, the first three Indiana Jones films and the first three Star Wars movies. Elstree Studios (now BBC Elstree), produced Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, Big Brother, Eastenders, and The Muppet Show.
This is a quiet and well-developed suburban location that offers excellent transport links to London, from a pleasant vantage point, with a well-stocked high street and good amenities. Attraction in the immediate area include the Royal Air Force Museum, London, the Royal National Rose Garden, St Albans Cathedral, and Keats House.
