Bontnewydd

The small village of Bontnewydd in Gwynedd, Wales with the River Gwyrfai running through it is in a wonderful location surrounded by picturesque countryside; rich with diverse flora, fauna and wildlife offering outstanding scenery and views. Bontewydd is served by the Bontnewydd Railway Station on the Welsh Highland Railway; a restored long narrow gauge heritage railway that travels 22.5 miles, passing through a number of popular tourist destinations.

 

Bontnewydd has some amenities and shops but is within close proximity to larger settlements offering additional choices for dining, shopping and leisure. Within the area are a number of historic sites as well as visitor and cultural attractions including the striking Caernarfon Castle, the Lleyn Peninsula and Isle of Anglesey as well as the magnificent Snowdonia National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty popular with walkers, climbers and outdoor enthusiasts. Locally there are facilities for golfing, riding, angling and cycling and a host of outdoor activities.
