The small seaside resort of Bognor Regis in the charming county of West Sussex grew from a small settlement of fishermen and smugglers to become a popular resort from the 18th century. When King George V chose to convalesce here in 1929 the prosperity of the town was confirmed and the sea air helped the King to regain his health. The town is still a place where fishermen operate small inshore boats from the beaches alongside the tourists and the history s evident in the historic buildings.
Bognor Regis has plenty of amenities, pubs, bars, restaurants and good shopping along with seaside attractions and historic sites like the Royal Norfolk Hotel and Hotham Park. The lovely promenade stretches from Aldwick to the west through to Felpham to the east of the town and is perfect for a stroll along the coast. Bognor Regis also boasts wonderful parks and gardens and has been a winner of the South East in Bloom competition.
