Biddenden

Biddenden is a village in the Ashford District of Kent, in south-east England. The village is situated on the Weald of Kent, neighbouring the town of Tenterden. It was once a prominent location in Wealden iron and clothmaking industries, and a settlement for Flemish clothworkers during the reign of Edward III. The area is now known for its wine and cider is production, for which reason Biddenden's Cider has become a well-known English brand, produced by Biddenden Vineyards Ltd. The village sign depicts famous residents Mary and Eliza Chulkhurst, who were born conjoined inn the year 1100, and became known as The Biddenden Maids.
