Betws y Coed

Betws-y-Coed is a small and pretty village in the picturesque Conwy valley in Wales. Its name translates to "Prayer house in the wood" in modern English. It lies in the Snowdonia National Park and was founded around a monastery near the end of the 6th century. It follows a traditional village layout, centred around a large village green, which is also a playing field. Its high street provides a good range of shops, pubs, cafés, tourist shops, and hotels, along with a large car park.

The Conwy Valley Railway Museum features an large miniature railway, while the motor museum displays a large collection of vintage cars. The area is famous for its scenic riverside walks, featuring various cascading waterfalls, the Llyn Elsi reservoir and popular angling sites.

Attractions in the area include Dolwyddelan Castle, the Snowdon Mountain Railway, and Conwy Castle.
